
Afghan President Ashraf Ghani addressed his country from the UAE on Wednesday. This is his first statement after leaving Afghanistan. Ashraf Ghani said that I should know the whole thing about those who said that I ran away. He said that if I had lived in Kabul, the massacre would have started there. Leaving the country, I have saved the people of Kabul from a bloody war. Ghani further said that I wanted to hand over power to the Taliban peacefully.
Addressing Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani said that I was expelled from the country against my will. Those who say fugitives don’t know about me. Ghani claimed that his talks with the Taliban had been fruitless. At the same time, Ghani has also responded to the allegations of running away with the money. Ghani said that as far as running away with money is concerned, it is completely baseless.
Ashraf Ghani said that I am away from Afghanistan due to security reasons. Had I stayed there, there would have been a massacre in Kabul. I have left the country to avoid any untoward incidents
UAE accepted on humanitarian grounds
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) said it has accepted Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and his family on humanitarian grounds. Ghani had left the country before the Taliban could even reach Kabul. UAE’s official news committee ‘WAM gave this information in one of its news on Wednesday. However, he did not specify where Ghani was in the country.
Taliban says it has changed
After the Taliban took over the country, its every move is being closely monitored. The Taliban says it has changed and will not re-impose the kind of restrictions it imposed during its previous regime, but people are not sure about them. The manner in which the protest on Wednesday has been called off may add to the apprehensions of the people.
