Asus also showcased a new Xbox controller at the Consumer Electronics Show 2023. The new Asus Xbox controller for PC has more features than the standard Xbox buttons. The controller has an OLED display and a variety of connectivity options. It is known as ROG Raikiri Pro, and will be available later in the year.
The new Asus ROG Raikiri Pro features a small 1.3 inch OLED display that is located above the Xbox button. It has a resolution 128×40 pixels. You can see important notifications such as the controller charging status, Bluetooth device pairing attempts, mic status, and other vital information. Although this display is a nice addition to the controller’s design, Asus isn’t the first to include it on an Xbox controller. It is, however, the first controller to offer three connectivity options.
Bluetooth, a low latency 2.4GHz radio frequency mode and a wired USB C are available for connectivity. Two buttons are located on the controller’s top, which allow for controller profile switching during gaming. With the help of the Asus Armoury Crate App, you can customize the Raikiri Pro by customizing dead zones, joystick sensitivity and trigger modes. There are also four programmeable rear buttons and trigger locks.
Asus markets the Raikiri Pro to be a professional PC controller. However, it can connect to Xbox Series X or Series S consoles via wired USB-C. The pro features will only work with the PC. For a better gaming experience, the Raikiri Pro has an integrated ESS DAC and a 3.5mm headset jack. The pricing information for the Raikiri Pro has not been released by Asus. Although the launch date for the Raikiri Pro is unknown at this time, it can be expected that the controller will arrive in the first quarter.
