Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused the Bharatiya Janata Party, Wednesday, January 11, 2023 of spreading fear, hatred, and violence in the country. He also stated that India stands for “brotherhood,” unity, and respect and that his Bharat Yodo Yatra was “successful.”
Before beginning the Yatra’s Punjab leg, Mr. Gandhi addressed people at Sirhind.
“In the country , there has been a climate of hatred. He claimed that RSS and BJP people were dividing the country, putting one caste against another… And they have spoiled atmosphere in the country.”
We felt that the country needed to take a different path. This was why we created this Yatra.
According to the Congress leader, the Yatra received an overwhelming public response. It got even better as it crossed between states.
“There is a reason why hatred, fear, and violence are being spread by the BJP people. It is not the country’s way or its history. This country is about brotherhood, unity, and respect. This is the reason why this Yatra is so successful,” he stated.
M. Gandhi stated that he learned a lot from the yatra as he talked to small-shopkeepers, farmers, workers, and youth who were unemployed.
Amrinder Singh Raja Warring of the Punjab Congress, Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa and Bhupinder Singh Hooda from Haryana Congress, former chief minister Charanjit Singh Choanni, were among those who accompanied Mr. Gandhi on the Yatra.
Before the beginning of the Punjab leg Bharat Yodo Yatra, the Gandhi scion had paid respects at Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib.
