The Jio Phone 5G received its Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), certification just days after it was listed on Geekbench. It appears that the Jio Phone 5G launch is nearing. We believe the Jio Phone 5G will be launched by Reliance Jio at the Reliance AGM.
Mukesh Ambani, RIL Industries chairman, has confirmed that the Jio Phone exists. In August, he revealed that the telecom giant was working with Google to launch a Jio phone compatible with 5G. More information about the launch will be available in the near future. Some details about the 5G phone have been released. This is all you need to know.
The official name of this device is unknown at the moment. According to rumours, Jio Phone 5G will be named by Reliance Jio. Geekbench currently lists the device with model number Jio LSR1654QB5. According to the listing, the phone may come with 4GB RAM.
Ambani confirmed that the company has partnered with Qualcomm. The Jio Phone 5G will come equipped with a Snapdragon chip. The Snapdragon 480+ SoC is expected to power it. According to the listing, the Jio Phone 5G could ship with Android 12 OS. Many may find this disappointing, as Google already has Android 13.
Other specifications are unknown, but the Jio Phone 5G is expected to have a 6.5 inch HD+ LCD 90Hz screen, an 8,000mAh battery, and a dual-rear camera setup of 13-megapixels. An 8-megapixel sensor could be included on the front for taking selfies. According to the company, it will support charging at least 18W.
The telecom company claimed that Jio Phone was in development, suggesting that the 5G phone will not arrive soon. It will be available sometime next year, and it is likely to happen at the next AGM event of Reliance.
Ambani earlier this year confirmed that the Jio Phone would be “Ultra-affordable.” Although the exact price range has not been revealed, leaks suggest that it could be in the region of Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000. The handset could be priced below Rs 15,000, as there are fewer 5G options.
