MediaTek, a well-known chip manufacturer, has revealed a new Dimensity8200 chip that was specifically made for premium 5G smartphones.
The company stated in a statement that smartphones powered by the MediaTek Dimensity8200 chipset will provide flagship-level experience such as connectivity, gaming and multimedia.
The octa core central processing unit (CPU), which has four Arm Cortex A78 cores running at up to 3.1 GHz, is also included. It also includes a Mali-G610 graphics engine for improved performance across all applications.
MediaTek’s HyperEngine technology is used to enhance gaming performance. Users can enjoy smooth high frame rates without connection drops, FPSjitter or gameplay hiccups.
MediaTek’s Intelligent Display Sync 2.0 technology makes viewing more enjoyable. It automatically adjusts the display refresh rates to match the game frame rate.
“The MediaTek Dimensity8200 will improve the gaming experience on premium 5G phones and will deliver smoother gameplay with high framerates, impressive graphics and seamless connectivity,” stated CH Chen, Deputy General Manager of MediaTek’s Wireless Communications Business Unit.
Chen said that the Dimensity 8200’s power efficiency enhancements mean consumers don’t need to sacrifice battery life for super-high performance.
The new chip is capable of recording 14-bit HDR video (high dynamic range), with up to three cameras simultaneously, and can support 320MP photos.
Tri-band Wi-Fi 6E is also supported by the chipset, which provides faster wireless connectivity.
MediaTek announced that the Dimensity 8200 chip would launch on the global market in October.
