Nvidia announced Monday the Geforce RTX4070 Ti graphics card at CES 2023. The GPU has 12GB memory and was built using TSMC’s 4nm process. This card is the third to be built on Nvidia’s Ada Lovelace architecture, which was announced back in September 2022 for RTX 40 Series cards.
Nvidia GeforceRTX 4090, GeforceRTX 4080 are the other cards that were based on Ada Lovelace’s architecture.
Specifications and features of Nvidia Geforce RTX4070 Ti
The Nvidia Geforce 4070 Ti, although it may sound new, is the only ‘unlaunced 4080 12GB model. The RTX 4080 was launched by Nvidia in September with two models, a 16GB VRAM model and a 12GB VRAM model. There were many differences between the models, which led to confusion among buyers.
Nvidia launched the RTX4080 12GB GPU for the first-ever time. This same model was also showcased at CES as the RTX 4070T.
Geforce RTX 4070Ti is based on Ada Lovelace architecture. It also features TSMC’s 4-nm process. The GPU supports streaming with features such as Ray Tracing, DLSS 3 and AV1 video encoding.
Nvidia claims that the 4070 Ti renders 3D objects 15 percent faster than the RTX 3090, although it was directly compared to the RTX 3080 by Ampere. According to Nvidia, the 4070 Ti is capable of rendering 3D faster than RTX 3080 and consumes less power.
The RTX4070 Ti’s specifications include 7680 CUDA Cores, 12GB of GDDR6X RAM and 12GB of GDDR6X VRAM. It boasts a boost clock clock of 2.61 GHz, and a base clock clock of 2.31 GHz. It features a 192 bit interface, 4th generation tensor cores, and 3rd-gen Ray Tracing Cores.
The GPU is compatible with PCIe Gen 4 and can support a maximum resolution up to 4K 240Hz, or 8K 60Hz. The GPU supports up to four monitors and is VR-ready.
Nvidia Geforce Ti 4070 Ti price and release date in India
Nvidia has maintained the Indian starting price for the RTX4070 Ti at Rs 80,000. The US price for the card is $799. This roughly corresponds to Rs 66,000. The GPU will be available worldwide starting January 5.
Nvidia won’t be selling a Founder’s Edition Card this time. The GPU will still be available for sale by third-party companies such as Asus, Gigabyte and Zotac.
