When the connector is damaged or the device has been subject to abuse, you will see green lines on your smartphone display. It is a hardware problem. As is the case for many OnePlus owners, after a software upgrade, their devices experience green line issues.
A number of reports from Twitter indicate that the OxygenOS 13 update causes an orange line to appear on several OnePlus devices. These devices include the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 8 Pro. However, the OnePlus 10 Pro appears to be on the right track.
The reports don’t indicate if the issue occurs immediately after updating to the latest OxygenOS build, or if it takes time. However, there is no doubt that the issue is linked to that specific version.
According to user reports, the green line appears regardless of whether the device was dropped, water-damaged or mishandled. This is very strange. One other observation is that most complaints have been made by Indian owners. However, this could be due to OnePlus’ popularity in India.
There are no known solutions to the green line problem at this point. Although some users claim it is intermittent, most green lines are hardware-related and more often than not permanent. It is best to contact the service center if you have the problem. Displays that are under warranty should be replaced at no cost. However, it might take some convincing to get replacements for out-of-warranty models.
