“Surya informed us that he will be available to play in the second Ranji Trophy match. The selection committee selected the team for the first Ranji Trophy (Vs Andhra), which will be led Ajinkya Rahane,” MCA Honorary Secretary Ajinkya Naida told The Indian Express.
After being absent for 75 days, Yadav was back in India. To give Yadav “rest”, the Indian national selectors did not pick him for Bangladesh tour. Suryakumar Yadav responded by letting Mumbai selectors that he is available for Ranji Trophy.
Yadav once more expressed his desire to play domestic Cricket, even though there are no other competitive games. Yadav was sensational during the T20 World Cup, where his ability to play all-round made it the most dangerous player at the tournament.
Yadav travelled with the Indian team to New Zealand to play three T20Is and three ODIs after the World Cup in Australia. In the first T20I against New Zealand, Yadav scored a sensational 111 with just 51 balls. His presence is expected to provide a huge boost for the Mumbai team.
Yadav’s runs are 5326 from 77 matches, an average of 44.01, and he has a top score of 200 in first-class cricket since his debut against Gujarat in 2010. He has a reasonable strike rate of 62.68 and 14 centuries.
Rahane will lead
