It said that 5G services of the telecom giant were launched in Kochi City, and Guruvayur Temple premises. Pinarayi Vijayan, Kerala Chief Minister, launched Jio 5G Powered WiFi services digitally from Trivandrum for an event in Kochi.
Jio showcased the immersive benefits 5G has to offer in healthcare through Jio Community Clinic and the innovative AR-VR device Jio Glass. These benefits will make a significant difference in the lives and livelihoods of Keralans, according to the statement.
CM Vijayan spoke at the event and said that he was happy to launch Jio’s True 5G services for Kerala. In the long-term, 5G services will provide transformative benefits to Keralans.
Jio has made investments in excess of Rs. This is a sign of their commitment to Kerala and the 6,000 crores they have invested in 5G.
“They will launch 5G services at Trivandrum by the end of this month, followed by Thrissur and Kozhikode by January 2023.” According to the Jio statement, he stated that Jio’s 5G services will be available in every taluk and tehsil of Kerala by December 2023.
He said that Jio 5G services would open up new opportunities for growth in areas like e-governance and education as well as IT and SME businesses.
Vijayan said that 5G will allow citizens and governments to stay connected on a real-time basis. It will also increase the efficiency and implementation of government schemes for last mile users.
Jio users in Kochi, Guruvayur, and other areas will be invited to the Jio Welcome offer, which allows unlimited data at speeds up to 1Gbps+, starting today.
“We are thrilled to launch Jio True 5G at Guruvayur Temple and Kochi in Kerala. Soon, Jio True5G will be expanding across Kerala. Jio is the only 5G network that’s available in Kerala,” said a Jio spokesperson.
