Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and Meta founder, has announced that they will bring digital avatars to WhatsApp.
WhatsApp users can now upload their avatars to their profile photos. Or choose from 36 stickers that reflect different emotions and actions.
We’re adding avatars to WhatsApp! Your avatar can now be used as a sticker for chats. Zuckerberg said that there will be more styles in all of our apps.
Your avatar is a digital representation of you. It can be made from millions of different hairstyles, facial features and outfits.
Sending an avatar to your family and friends is a quick and easy way to express your feelings. WhatsApp also stated that it can be a great way for you to express yourself without having to use your real picture, making it feel more private.
According to the company, style enhancements such as lighting, shading and hair style textures will be continued by the company, which will improve avatars over time.
Zuckerberg is looking forward to “seeing people build immersive worlds and to bringing it to more countries soon”.
Meta stated in a blog post that “We want everyone in Horizon Worlds to have control over their experiences”, and added that they are always looking to improve the tools and features that allow people to personalise their experiences.
Meta also revealed that it will add legs to its virtual avatars, which are not yet available on Horizon Worlds’ VR platform. This may be done in the early part of next year.
