After feeling sick, a woman passenger did not know she was pregnant. Tamara, the woman was on a KLM Royal Dutch flight between Guyaquil (Ecuador) and Amsterdam when she unexpectedly gave birth. Ms Tamara flew from Ecuador to Spain and made a stop in Schipol Airport outside Amsterdam.
“A few hours prior to landing in the Netherlands her stomach hurt so she decided to go the toilet,” a spokesperson of Spaarne Gashuis Haarlem Zurid hospital stated NL Times. “To her great surprise, she suddenly found out that she had a baby after two contractions.”
“Tamara didn’t know she was pregnant, and was very taken aback,” said the hospital.
According to New York Post an airline spokesperson stated that Ms Tamara’s delivery was assisted by two Austrian doctors and a nurse. We are grateful for their assistance. According to authorities, Ms Tamara also named Maximiliano the baby after one of her fellow passengers who helped ensure a safe delivery.
KLM airline reported that the mother as well as her baby were doing “well” at the moment. The airline stated that after arriving at Schiphol, both mother and baby were taken by ambulance to Spaarne Gasthuis.
According to the outlet: “Both Tamara & Maximiliano were fortunately healthy.” “Both Maximiliano, Tamara and Maximiliano received excellent care from the team at the hospital’s birthing department. They are now on their way to Maximiliano for all the paperwork. Maximiliano, Tamara, and Maximiliano will be leaving Madrid as soon as possible. Spaarne Gasthuis sends their best wishes!” They agreed.
