India has seen a price increase for the Xbox Series S console. The new price increase means that the console will now cost Rs 40,000. This price hike comes months after the previous price increase for the console and marks the first price increase of the year.
According to reports, the console will be available for pre-orders starting January 10, 2023 at a new price.

Rishi Alwani, an analyst, has revealed that the Xbox Series S received a price increase. The new price for the Xbox Series S is Rs 39990. This is Rs 2,000 higher than the original price of Rs 37990.

Pre-orders for the console can be made starting January 10, 2023. The Series S now costs Rs 40,000. It’s also in line with the original cost of the Sony PlayStation 5 Digital Edition.
We’ll be discussing Sony later, but the Series X consoles were also subject to an increase in price by Microsoft. The price of the console was increased by 5 percent to Rs 55,990. Accessories also went up in price.
The price of the Xbox wireless controller in Robot White or Carbon Black was increased from Rs 5,690 up to Rs 5,990. The controller’s Electric Vold version cost Rs 6,290 and was priced at Rs 6,590.
However, Xbox consoles are becoming more expensive due to the weakness of the Indian Rupee in comparison to the US Dollar.
The price of the Sony PlayStation 5 line was also increased months ago
The PlayStation side of things saw Sony raise the price of its PS5 Digital Edition, which was previously Rs 39,990 and now Rs 44,990. This happened in November. The price of the PS5 Disc Edition increased from Rs 49,990, to Rs 54,990. But, Sony did not increase the prices of accessories like Microsoft.
